Lab Protective Equip: Safety goggles, dust respirator. Good ventilation.

4 - First Aid Measures

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Crystals will sting the nasal passages. Get medical attention.

Ingestion: If swallowed, Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention if symptoms appear.

Skin Contact: Flush skin with plenty of water. Silver Chloride will not normally react with skin.

Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty warm water. Get medical attention.

5 - Fire Fighting Measures

Fire: Silver Chloride does not burn. It does not increase the flammability of other materials.

6 - Accidental Release Measures

Wear protective equipment. Clean up in a way that doesn't disperse the crystals into the air.

7 - Handling and Storage

Store in a closed container. Silver Chloride is light sensitive. It does not absorb moisture from the air.

Appearance: White colored powder.

Odor: Odorless.

Solubility: 0.0016g/1000ml water @ 20°C (68°F).

Specific Gravity: 5.56

pH: none - does not affect the pH of solutions.

Boiling Point: 1550°C (2822°F).

Melting Point: 455°C (851°F) - Forms a brown, viscous liquid.

10 - Stability and Reactivity

Stability: Stable at room temperature in sealed containers.

Conditions to Avoid: Do not allow solutions of Silver Chloride and Ammonia to dry out.

11 - Toxicity

Acute oral toxicity (LD50) 10g/kg - Mouse, 5g/kg - Guinea Pig.

Inhalation causes mucus membrane irritation, with coughing.

12 - Transport Information

Non-hazardous for air, sea and road freight.

Not a DOT controlled material.
