Since ours is based on 1 gram Gold Metal per 100 ml water (metals basis).

Why use Gold Chloride in solution?
Gold Chloride is much easier to handle and measure when in solution.
The powder form rapidly absorbs moisture from the air, and becomes very sticky.
The red, gooey, Gold Chloride powder sticks to everything it touches -- Glass, Ceramic, etc.

Gold Chloride 50ml of 1% solution contains exactly 0.500 grams of pure Gold Metal.
  Contains 0.500 grams of 99.99% pure gold ions in De-Ionized water.
  Contains 0.762 grams Gold Chloride. (AuCl₃)

Gold Chloride 100ml of 1% solution contains exactly 1.00 grams of pure Gold Metal.
  Contains 1.000 grams of 99.99% pure gold ions in De-Ionized water.
  Contains 1.524 grams Gold Chloride. (AuCl₃)

In Photography, as a print toning agent. (Gold Toning)
